Financial results and paving the way forward

This year marks 50 years since the idea of creating Oikocredit first came about. When looking back, we are proud of our achievements. Since our actual founding in 1975, we have supported over 1,800 organisations in their quest to help people in low-income communities improve their lives.

While our mission has not changed over the decades, the world around us has. You can read more about that and Oikocredit's response in our annual report. This newsletter also includes our 2017 results press release and an inspiring story featuring our partner Contactar. This microfinance organisation supports small-scale entrepreneurs across a range of activities in southern Colombia, not just by providing loans but also by taking steps to improve their wellbeing.

Oikocredit's 2017 full-year results

Our latest press release reveals key figures from 2017 including our member capital crossing the one billion euro mark and the doubling of efforts in capacity building. Foreign exchange results impacted Oikocredit's income but were largely offset by the cooperative's internal currency fund.
